It is possible to outfit this superb cabriolet with a choice of two engines. The E 400 comes with a 329 hp six cylinder engine and the E 550 is equipped with an 8 cylinder powerplant that is capable of developing 402 hp. Both engines are twin turbo and feature the ECO Start/Stop system that makes waiting at red lights more efficient. Both engines are mated to a 7G-TRONIC PLUS 7-Speed Automatic Transmission. On the chassis side, the AGILITY CONTROL automatically adjusts each shock absorber based on the road surface and driving style. It can instantly firm up the suspension for sharper handling while maintaining a comfortable ride for passengers. Moreover, the Dynamic Handling suspension can modify the electronically controlled shock absorbers with Comfort and Sport settings. Fuel consumption is greatly efficient on both variants. The E 400 gets as low as 10.0 l/100 km while the E 550 can reach 11.7 l/100 km depending on driving conditions.
